JS Editions, publisher of reviews and comparisons
JS Editions is an independent publisher of reviews, comparisons and ratings of products and services: software, online services and equipment. Every page follows the same documented process, from collecting technical specifications to awarding a justified score.
Our own network of sites
Our reviews are published on a network of topic sites that we publish ourselves, with no intermediary.
Published rules
Method, use of AI, corrections and funding: our editorial rules are set out below, and every site applies them.
The publisher

Julien Schiro, founder and publication director
Julien Schiro has worked on the web for more than fifteen years. He first spent more than ten years as a developer in a communication agency, designing, building and maintaining websites for clients in every sector. He then became an independent developer under the name JS Dev.
For nearly five years he has also published his own topic sites. He handles tool selection, launch, search optimisation, audience measurement, testing and comparisons. What he applies on these sites he first did for clients: this hands-on practice shapes the JS Editions method.

A small team, one method
JS Editions brings together a small team of passionate writers around Julien. They choose the topics, build the source files, check the facts and keep the pages up to date.
Articles are written with the help of artificial intelligence tools, within a strict frame: AI only works from facts checked at their source, and no page is published before it has passed our checks.

How we test and rate
A score is only worth something if you know where it comes from. Every page follows these six steps, and the transparency section of each site details the method applied.
- 01
Defining the need
We start from a real need (hosting a website, invoicing, equipping a kitchen…) and define the criteria that matter for it, before choosing the products or services to compare.
- 02
Collecting technical specifications
Specifications, pricing and terms are taken from the brands’ official pages and dated, with prices shown as displayed (excluding or including VAT) and the limits of each plan.
- 03
Hands-on testing, when possible
When possible, we test ourselves: trial accounts for software and services, real-life conditions for products we have. Otherwise, the offer is assessed from the official pages.
- 04
Gathering and analysing user reviews
When user reviews are published (Trustpilot, app stores, communities), we collect them and identify strengths and recurring issues, taking the volume and date of reviews into account.
- 05
Building the score
Each criterion is scored from the collected facts, plus tests and reviews when available, then weighted by how much it matters for the need. The final score is always shown with its breakdown.
- 06
Publishing and updating
Every page shows its last verification date. When a plan, price or product changes, the page is reviewed and the score recalculated if needed.
A grid tailored to each category
Criteria and their weights depend on the category being tested. Examples of criteria we use:
- > Features and specifications
- > Ease of use
- > Measured or observed performance
- > Value for money
- > Support and after-sales service
- > User feedback
What we review
Independence and transparency
Some links are affiliate links and are always disclosed. A commission never changes a score or a ranking. No brand bidding, no coupon sites, no incentivised traffic. Our audience comes from organic search.
Our editorial rules
These rules apply to every site published by JS Editions.
Publishing principles
A topic starts from a real need. Facts are taken from official sources and dated. Sources are cited at the end of each article. “Tested” only appears when the page shows the proof.
Use of artificial intelligence
AI helps structure and write, from a file of checked facts. It never chooses ratings or rankings. Every page is checked before publication: cited facts, links, style, critical review and SEO check.
Corrections and updates
A reported error is checked at the source, then corrected in the page, whose verification date is updated. When an offer or a price changes, the page is reviewed and the rating recalculated.
Independence and funding
JS Editions is a sole proprietorship, with no shareholder or outside investor. It is funded by affiliate links, always disclosed, and by sponsored content, always labelled as such. A commission never changes a rating or a ranking.
Report an error
Write to [email protected], naming the page concerned. Each site also has its own contact address.
Work with us
Brands and affiliate programmes: we can include your product or service in our reviews, through the same process as every other candidate.
